It was a good run, but the Balmorhea Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 42-23 bruising from Van Horn. Balmorhea has not had much luck with Van Horn recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Horn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gio Corralez, who scored 15 points. Corralez hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Gonzalez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Balmorhea now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Van Horn, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
Balmorhea will take on Big Bend at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van Horn, they will be playing at home against Marfa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
