The Preston Pirates won against the Pawhuska Huskies on Thursday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Preston took down Pawhuska 53-38. Given Preston's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Pawhuska is ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trenton Miles, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was Miles' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Snodgrass, who scored six points.
The victory (which was Preston's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. As for Pawhuska, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Preston won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Frontier on January 6th.
