On Friday, The Silverado Skyhawks faced the Arbor View Aggies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Silverado took a 17-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arbor View. Silverado has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even if they lost, Silverado's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dillion Elliot and Jayland McGlothlen who racked up four sacks between them.
Arbor View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makhai Donaldson out in front who rushed for 129 yards on only 12 carries. Donaldson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Arbor View also got a significant boost from Kamareion Bell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.
Silverado's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Arbor View, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Silverado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Arbor View will be playing in front of their home fans against Shadow Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Shadow Ridge is ranked sixth, while Arbor View is ranked third).
