The Orange County Fighting Hornets lost against the Western Albemarle Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Orange County fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 46-43.
Orange County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laney Fayard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Fayard hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Emma Mastin, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Orange County's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Western Albemarle, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Goochland the next time they take the court. Orange County will host the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
