Mohave Accelerated got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They claimed a resounding 58-29 victory over the Kingman Academy Tigers. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Hazel Mae Barnett was a one-woman wrecking crew for Mohave Accelerated as she posted 16 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. The dominant performance gave Barnett a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Haley Leslie, who had ten points in addition to eight boards and four steals.
Mohave Accelerated was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Mohave Accelerated's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7. As for Kingman Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
