Normal Community faced Lockport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Ironmen came out on top against the Porters by a score of 2-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Ironmen, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Alana Whitfield paced Normal Community's offense, picking up seven kills. Whitfield got some help from Evie Mounce and her 16 assists. Mounce also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Liv Gerrietts, each putting up two.

Despite the loss, Lockport saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Natalie Bochantin had 11 assists and five digs.

Normal Community's win bumped their record up to 30-5. As for Lockport, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-7.

Normal Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Rock Island on the 28th. As for Lockport, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Romeoville on the 28th.
