The Eagle Rock Eagles will head out to square off against the Alhambra Moors at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alhambra took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eagle Rock, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Eagle Rock was able to grind out a solid victory over Cleveland, taking the game 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Marcella Terrazas made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Terrazas was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Eagle Rock got a massive performance out of Julyssa Castellon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. AJ Jimenez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Eagle Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland only posted a batting average of .233.
Meanwhile, Alhambra scored first but ultimately less than Rio Hondo Prep in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kares. The contest marked the Moors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Alhambra also got a good showing from Glorianne Nieto, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Nieto has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alhambra saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amari Antunez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Eagle Rock now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Alhambra, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Everything went Eagle Rock's way against Alhambra in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Eagle Rock made off with a 14-1 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Moors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
