It was a good run, but the DuSable Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Horizon Science Academy-Southwest. The result was an unpleasant reminder to DuSable of the 47-41 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Horizon Science Academy-Southwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaivon Payton, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlon Williams, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
DuSable's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7.
DuSable does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Horizon Science Academy-Southwest also has no future games currently scheduled.
