John Curtis Christian proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitchers stepped up to hand St. Martin's Episcopal a 1-0 shutout. The one-run effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Aiden Morril tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.
While Holy Cross didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Belle Chasse on Saturday as Holy Cross made off with an 11-4 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hayden Derbes looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Holy Cross pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for John Curtis Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
John Curtis Christian beat Holy Cross 5-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will John Curtis Christian repeat their success, or does Holy Cross have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
