Liberty Common has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Strasburg Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Common will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Strasburg is ranked 33rd).
Liberty Common suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Prospect Ridge Academy on the road and fell 78-44. Liberty Common found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
The losing side was boosted by Max Frevert, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Pierce Richardson, who scored 12 points.
Liberty Common struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Strasburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Valley on the road to the tune of 109-46. Strasburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 30 points or more this season.
Strasburg relied on the efforts of Tyce Bollers, who scored 27 points along with three steals, and Austin Velasco, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Velasco has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nick Glatfelter, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Liberty Common bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Strasburg, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
