The Bartram Trail Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 57-43 to Orange Park. While losing is never fun, Bartram Trail can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Raiders are ranked 192nd).
Bartram Trail's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bennett Michelsen, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Shields, who scored eight points along with six assists.
Bartram Trail has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Orange Park, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.
Bartram Trail will take on the Bulldogs at TBD on Tuesday. Orange Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
