Baseball Recap: Lewisburg Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lewisburg had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Lincoln on Tuesday. The Lewisburg Patriots were the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over the Lincoln Trojans. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Talon Haley and Cooper Bierman made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Haley didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Bierman pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. At bat, Haley got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI, while Bierman scored two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most RBI Haley has posted over his last 12 matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grant Walendzik, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Hendrichovsky, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Lewisburg lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Lewisburg, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, they moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Lewisburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-14 victory against Riverdale on the 12th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-3 win against Clarksville on the 12th.
