The West Carrollton Pirates suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairborn by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fairborn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taiyou Williams, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sean Townsend, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
West Carrollton's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-8. As for Fairborn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Carrollton will take on Piqua at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairborn, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Butler has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
