It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tolar had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Henrietta Bearcats. The victory was nothing new for the Rattlers as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Cutter Cain was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Tolar is undefeated when Cain allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Cain was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Talan Culberson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Tolar: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Tolar now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Henrietta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-14-1 record this season.
