The Mount Olive Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Stringer Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Olive is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Mount Olive took a serious blow against North Forrest, falling 46-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mount Olive has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Stringer scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 50-21 win over Mississippi School for the Deaf at home. That 50-21 margin sets a new team best for Stringer this season.
Mount Olive bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.7 points per game. As for Stringer, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Mount Olive came up short against Stringer when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 54-43. Can Mount Olive avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
