Softball Recap: Christian Academy-Louisville Victorious

Christian Academy-Louisville was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Lexington Christian Eagles 11-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Centurions considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Makenzie King made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. King was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Christian Academy-Louisville let Taylor Mattingly and Grace Norton run wild. Mattingly went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Norton went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Norton has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Candice Smith, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Christian Academy-Louisville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
