After a string of three wins, the Mountain View Mountain Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 64-56 to Riverdale Ridge. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain View in their matchups with Riverdale Ridge: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Tyson Mares-Benz, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mares-Benz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keegan Amans, who scored ten points.
Riverdale Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Hinh, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Marcus D mcfadden was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Riverdale Ridge, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Mountain View will take on Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View is facing Niwot at the right time seeing as Niwot is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Riverdale Ridge, they and Fort Morgan will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Fort Morgan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
