After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Sanpete, Union was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Emery Spartans 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Union took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-8, 25-9.

Union's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Emery, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Union is set to face off against their familiar foe Manti at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Emery will square off against rival Carbon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
