South Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully South Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
South Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Boone Grove 74-24 at home. Given South Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Boone Grove is ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lexi Johnson and Sadie Marks were among the main playmakers for South Central as the former scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds and the latter dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. The game was Marks' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Welsh, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Kouts' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Washington Township 45-39.
The losses dropped South Central to 5-3 and Boone Grove to 0-9.
South Central strolled past Kouts in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 56-40. Will South Central repeat their success, or does Kouts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
