The North Schuylkill Spartans entered their tilt with the Pine Grove Cardinals with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. North Schuylkill took down Pine Grove 62-48 on Tuesday. Given North Schuylkill's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Pine Grove is ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zane Zulkowski was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Keiter, who scored 19 points.
North Schuylkill pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Pine Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
North Schuylkill will be playing in front of their home fans against Panther Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Panther Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday. As for Pine Grove, they will head out on the road to challenge Tamaqua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
