Florence is a perfect 10-0 against Coolidge since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Gophers will head out on the road to challenge the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Florence knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Coolidge likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Florence got the win against Globe by a conclusive 14-4. Considering the Gophers have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jagger Navarro made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. Navarro was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
Florence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.
Coolidge came out on top against Globe on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Bears skirted past the Tigers 8-6. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Ruben Baca was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Florence pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Coolidge, their record is now 9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Florence has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Coolidge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Florence's way against Coolidge in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Florence made off with a 28-3 victory. Will the Gophers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
