After having lost a blowout in their previous game against High Point Christian Academy, Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Covenant Day Lions 62-8. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy], adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Marcus Sales, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyzhir Dyer and Michael Trojan. Dyer got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] back to even at 1-1. As for Covenant Day, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] will head out to face off against Ravenscroft at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Covenant Day, they will venture away from home to take on Metrolina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
