Mt. Diablo lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Antioch, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Red Devils blew past the Panthers 25-1 on Thursday. 25 seems to be a good number for the Red Devils as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Leilani Sheperd made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Sheperd was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

American hit Deer Valley with a seven-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines came up short against the Eagles, falling 14-3. The game marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Amelia Willis made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Willis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fennie Kolaco, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Diablo and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 25.0 runs over those games. As for Deer Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Deer Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mt. Diablo has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Deer Valley, though, as they've been averaging 12.8 hits. Given Mt. Diablo's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolverines will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mt. Diablo skirted past Deer Valley 25-23 when the teams last played on Tuesday. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
