The Dyersburg Trojans came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Dyer County with points to spare, taking the game 40-25. Given Dyersburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Choctaws are ranked 149th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kalli Maclin went supernova for Dyersburg, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maclin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelby Jordan, who scored six points along with two steals.
Dyersburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Dyer County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dyersburg will face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for South Gibson: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Trojans have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Dyer County, they will square off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
