The Los Angeles CES Unicorns will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Manual Arts Toilers at 2:30 p.m. on January 15th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Los Angeles CES didn't have too much trouble with University on the road as they won 51-36. Given Los Angeles CES's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while University is ranked 898th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Manual Arts came tearing into Wednesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by West Adams on the road to the tune of 93-39. Manual Arts has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.
Los Angeles CES's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Manual Arts, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Los Angeles CES came up short against Manual Arts in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 85-74. Can Los Angeles CES avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
