We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Dora is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Hanceville will be up against a hot Dora squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Dora walked away with a 7-2 victory over Holly Pond on Friday.

Ada Nix made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Nix wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aviana Goodmon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Hanceville hadn't done well against Holly Pond recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went Hanceville's way against Holly Pond as Hanceville made off with a 16-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Like Dora, Hanceville also got a great game from a two-way player: Josi Jones. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-low in hits. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Spinks, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alex Twitty, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.
Hanceville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Dora pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hanceville, their record is now 5-7-1.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Hanceville struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dora couldn't quite get it done against Hanceville when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 15-10. Can Dora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
