Chaparral is 0-3 against Belton since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chaparral Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Belton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Chaparral has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though Lake Belton scored an imposing 68 points on Tuesday, Chaparral still came out on top. Chaparral walked away with a 77-68 victory over Lake Belton.
Chaparral's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alphonzo Houser, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Demarko Williams, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Belton can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 66-43 margin over Killeen. Given Belton's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Killeen is ranked 966th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Chaparral back to even at 18-18. As for Belton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-5.
Chaparral suffered a grim 73-47 defeat to Belton in their previous meeting back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chaparral was down 49-17.
