Chamblee barely beat Lakeside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Vikings 41-7 on Friday. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Chamblee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Doss out in front who threw for 182 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards. Another player making a difference was ZEKE CORRADO, who gained 138 total yards and two touchdowns.
Chamblee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jazz Lewis, Edward Reed, Brock Ryan, and Ahmad Barry picked up one apiece. Jacob Hawkins was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Chamblee, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaylen Tipton Harris, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Chamblee's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for Lakeside, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Chamblee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 21-6 victory against Tri-Cities on the 10th. As for Lakeside, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
