The Guadalupe Centers Aztecs will head out on the road to square off against Ozanam at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Guadalupe Centers is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Guadalupe Centers struggled with threes last Wednesday (the Rams had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Guadalupe Centers had to suffer through a rough 63-31 loss at the hands of the Rams.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Junior Ibarra, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Christian Gonzalez Mendoza, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Ozanam's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Midland Adventist Academy.
Like Guadalupe Centers, Ozanam lost despite seeing results from several players. Zaireion Nicholson led the charge by scoring five points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. Skylar Horn was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Guadalupe Centers' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Ozanam, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Guadalupe Centers was taken down by the 66-38 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Guadalupe Centers was down 33-11.
