The Hoisington Cardinals were the 51-43 winner over the Hesston Swathers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hoisington lost to the Swathers at home by a decisive 53-36 margin on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hoisington has scored all season.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelsi Maier, who scored eight points.
Hoisington's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Hesston, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Hoisington will head out on the road to square off against the Greenbacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pratt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Cardinals are ranked 40th). As for Hesston, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Hillsboro's defense has only allowed 23.8 points per game this season, so the Swathers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
