Baseball Recap: Luverne Wins Going Away Against Redwood Valley

Luverne came out on top against Redwood Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. Luverne blew past Redwood Valley 9-1. The result was nothing new for Luverne, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Blake Sauer, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Carter Sehr was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Luverne hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Luverne has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Redwood Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
