Basketball Game Preview: Hope Christian Huskies vs. Del Norte Knights

Hope Christian is 9-1 against Del Norte since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hope Christian Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the Del Norte Knights at 7:00 p.m. Del Norte took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hope Christian, who comes in off a win.

Hope Christian is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hope Christian blew Valley out of the water with a 64-24 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Huskies had established a 21 point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hope Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bri Bishop, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Bishop has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. Mia Bishop was another key player, putting up 17 points along with five boards and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Del Norte was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 47-43 to West Mesa.

Hope Christian pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Del Norte, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13.

Hope Christian beat Del Norte 39-29 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Hope Christian repeat their success, or does Del Norte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
