The Bertrand Vikings were the 42-33 winner over the Overton Eagles when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bertrand received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 62-48 to Overton.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jc Kehr, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Thunder Nelson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Bertrand's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Overton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Bertrand will head out on the road to challenge Maywood/Hayes Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maywood/Hayes Center has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Overton, they will be playing at home against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on Tuesday. Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
