Globe is 0-3 against Seton Catholic since March of 2025 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. Globe has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Globe challenged Ray on Monday. The Tigers lost 12-2 to the Bearcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Bearcats since April 1, 2017.
Globe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Markitos Franco, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Seton Catholic never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Apache Junction on Friday. They put the hurt on the Prospectors with a sharp 17-7 win. Considering the Sentinels have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Seton Catholic gave Gunner Krawczyk the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Krawczyk a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Seton Catholic let Nathan Mulligan and Chase Ries run wild. Mulligan got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ries got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Jason Ruiz was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Seton Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apache Junction only posted a batting average of .238.
Globe's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Seton Catholic, their record is now 18-6.
Globe came up short against Seton Catholic in their previous meeting back in March, falling 5-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
