Cherry Creek is on a nine-game streak of home wins, while Rocky Mountain is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bruins will host the Lobos at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cherry Creek 3.1, Rocky Mountain 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Cherry Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Denver North get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Bruins have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

05/03/25 @ Arapahoe | 7 |
The result came thanks to Wyatt Rudden's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sean Goldy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Connor Larkin was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain faced Prairie View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lobos had just enough and edged out the Thunderhawks 3-1. Three seems to be a good number for the Lobos as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Ross Frank spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Rocky Mountain's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Champ Rivera, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Rocky Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Cherry Creek, their win bumped their record up to 19-5-1.
Cherry Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocky Mountain when the teams last played back in June of 2021, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Lobos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
