If Early wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clifton, they should've done a better job of containing Uri Sarda. The Cubs managed a 66-60 win over the Longhorns on Friday thanks in part to Sarda, who posted 18 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Early lost, don't look at Dayton Zamora. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field to rack up 16 points. Zamora has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Darryl Watkins also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The victory got Clifton back to even at 4-4. As for Early, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Clifton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-39 loss against Goldthwaite on the 6th. As for Early, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Comanche at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th.
