The Bayshore Bruins fell victim to the Cardinal Mooney Cougars''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Cougars 51-0. While losing is never fun, Bayshore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Cardinal Mooney is ranked 151st).
Cardinal Mooney found their leader in underclassman Devin Mignery, who rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Chris Mccorkle made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Bayshore has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Cardinal Mooney, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Bayshore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cardinal Mooney will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lakeland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Josh Bellamy jr and Carson Beach.
