There's no place like home for the Riverdale Raiders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-60 victory over Island Coast on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Konnor Vonhagen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Underwood, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Riverdale pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Island Coast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Riverdale will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oasis at 3:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Island Coast, they will head out on the road to face off against Bonita Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bonita Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
