Wayne Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the West Milford Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 373 points over their last six matches.
On Saturday, Wayne Valley strolled past the Comets with points to spare, taking the game 59-43.
It was another big night for Omar Ali, who scored 21 points along with five steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Devine, who scored eight points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, West Milford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-48 win over Lakeland Regional.
Wayne Valley is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for West Milford, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Everything came up roses for Wayne Valley against the Highlanders in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 81-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
