Sage Ridge has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They and the Smith Valley Bulldogs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sage Ridge and the Bulldogs are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Tuesday, Sage Ridge had to suffer through a rough 62-22 loss at the hands of the Muckers. Sage Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.
Meanwhile, Smith Valley came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Mineral County by a score of 73-65. Smith Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sage Ridge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Smith Valley, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Sage Ridge was dealt a bruising 68-35 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs when the teams last played on Monday. Can Sage Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
