The Nichols Vikings's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past Randolph with points to spare, taking the game 44-30. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, as Nichols did.
Nichols was led to victory by Brianna Barr-buday and Evelyn Walcott. Barr-buday dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds, while Walcott dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walcott has scored all season. Madisen Wilson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Randolph's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skylar Herington, who scored ten points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Dickerson, who scored six points along with four steals.
Nichols is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Randolph, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Nichols will be playing in front of their home fans against the Little Irish at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aquinas Institute will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Randolph, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Frewsburg will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
