Rapid City Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to fifth in 9-Man Freelance (9 Man). Earlier in the week, the Comets triumphed over Dupree 44-24.
Kimball/White Lake extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating South Central co-op [Bonesteel-Fairfax/Burke], 46-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Marion's dynamic duo of Nick Gortmaker and Jacob Weurtz proved tough for Canistota to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gortmaker threw for 107 yards and one touchdown and Weurtz had 63 yards receiving. Jordan Tunge helped Marion's passing attack out by catching two balls for 43 yards.
Lee Sivertsen provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Miller lost to Eureka/Bowdle. He completed six passes for 39 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 104 yards. Sivertsen's favorite target this week was Wyatt Strasburg, who caught five passes for 34 yards.
Stanley County's Herman Fennell III and Brady Washechek have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fennell III has thrown for 605 yards this season, while Washechek, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 11 catches for 306 yards. Andrew Grassi from the Bears leads the league in rushing with 922 yards.
A big matchup in 9-Man Freelance (9 Man) this week will be when Rapid City Christian takes on Lower Brule. At the moment, Corey Graper's team is in fifth, while the Sioux are in 11th.
Corsica/Stickney led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central.
