The Standley Lake Gators will venture away from home to face off against the Kennedy Commanders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Standley Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Standley Lake came out on top against Pomona on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Gators walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Panthers. The win was familiar territory for the Gators, who have now won three games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Carter Casias, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Standley Lake: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-6 otherwise. Aidan Rose also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Standley Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Kennedy posted their closest victory since April 15, 2025 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over Manual.
Kennedy let Xavier Benavidez and Kalani Market run wild. Benavidez went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Market went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four stolen bases gave Benavidez a new career-high. Ki'Marri Dotson was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Standley Lake now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kennedy, the victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 4-9.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Standley Lake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like Kennedy struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Standley Lake got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Kennedy by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
