Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Florida Jaguars, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seahawks. West Florida just can't catch a break and has now endured eight losses in a row.
When it comes to explaining why West Florida lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is Shania Beeks. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Beeks posted eight or more assists. Amani (AB) Bartholomew was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
West Florida's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-17. As for South Walton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season.
West Florida does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Walton, they will head out on the road to face off against Pensacola at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Walton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Pensacola surely won't give up without a fight.
