It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Columbine had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-58 victory over the Monarch Coyotes. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Columbine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Speir, who went 11-for-18 to rack up 26 points and five steals. That's the most steals Speir has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Washington, who shot 75% from the field on her way to 20 points.
Despite the defeat, Monarch saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sienna Williams dropped a double-double with 33 points and 18 rebounds. Those 33 points set a new season-high mark for Williams. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Weiss, who went 5-for-11 en route to 16 points and six assists.
Columbine pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points over those games. As for Monarch, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.
Looking ahead, Columbine will head out on the road to square off against Cherry Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbine has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 225 points over their last three contests. Monarch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
