Sidney is 10-0 against Xenia since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Sidney Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Xenia Buccaneers at 7:15 p.m. Sidney is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Last Saturday, Sidney was able to grind out a solid victory over Troy, taking the game 40-29. Given Sidney's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Troy is ranked 556th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Xenia didn't have too much trouble with Fairborn at home on Wednesday as they won 42-28.
Xenia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tayler Elliott led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaiya Meaux, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Sidney is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Xenia, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Everything came up roses for Sidney against Xenia in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 54-24 victory. Does Sidney have another victory up their sleeve, or will Xenia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
