Cardinal Spellman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the St. Edmund Prep Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Back in January, Cardinal Spellman had to suffer through a rough 72-41 loss at the hands of Fordham Prep. Cardinal Spellman was down 57-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, St. Edmund Prep came up short against Fordham Prep on Tuesday and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, St. Edmund Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Fordham Prep is ranked 92nd).
Cardinal Spellman dropped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Edmund Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Cardinal Spellman might still be hurting after the 56-32 defeat they got from St. Edmund Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Cardinal Spellman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
