This season hasn't been kind to The Midd-West Mustangs, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They were beaten by Selinsgrove 49-0 on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Midd-West in their matchups with Selinsgrove: they've now lost four in a row.
Selinsgrove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tucker Teats, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Teats was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Mark Pastore was another key contributor, throwing for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only five passes.
Another reason for the win was Selinsgrove's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Midd-West's QB won't forget Devon Mitchell anytime soon given Mitchell sacked him four times.
Midd-West's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.6 points per game. As for Selinsgrove, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0-1.
Midd-West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Selinsgrove will be playing in front of their home fans against Shikellamy at 7:00 p.m. on November 4th. Shikellamy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Selinsgrove is ranked 41st).
