Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Karns City's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Karns City put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let the Keystone Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Gremlins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Koen Williams, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Karns City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Karns City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Keystone, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Karns City will face off against North Clarion at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gremlins are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Keystone, they will square off against Redbank Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
