The Santa Anna Mountaineers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eden Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Santa Anna will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Even though Santa Anna has not done well against Menard recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Santa Anna made off with a 42-41 win over Menard.
Jacob Jimenez was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Santa Anna's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan Ray, who scored eight points along with seven steals and six assists.
Eden can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 49-44 W over Menard. Eden's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Santa Anna has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Eden, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10.
Santa Anna skirted past Eden 54-51 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Santa Anna have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
